Back to School Appreciation
Hello Church!
We would like to thank you for your prayers and financial support to fund the Back-to-School Event! We have composed this letter to give you an update on how the event unfolded on July 31st and how you can get more involved in our organization.
We originally planned to give 50 shoe vouchers, 100 hygiene bags, and 48 total haircuts and to fund all these blessings, our goal was to raise $3,350. We were shocked at the outpouring of donations within a short amount of time that far exceeded our goal. With these generous donations from churches like yourselves and individuals, JC First was able to expand our number of shoe vouchers from 50 to 100 which was incredible! At the end of the event, we had given over half of the hygiene bags, 58 shoe vouchers, and had given 25 haircuts. It is our plan to donate the remaining hygiene bags to the Jasper County School District to distribute to kids who may be in need of hygiene items. We have not officially decided on what to do with the remaining 42 shoe vouchers, but we plan to make that decision fairly soon. After we had finished the event, JC First receive an enormous amount of positive feedback. The hair stylists enjoyed seeing and working with each other and some have even offered to do it again next year. Prior to a haircut, a child had to undergo a lice check which was conducted by the elementary school nurse, Jenny Milliman who also enjoyed the experience and was on board for next year as well. Recipients of these blessings showed so much appreciation and thankfulness which confirmed, for us, that we achieved our ultimate goal of serving Jasper County. Lynn Judy also served as our volunteer photographer for this event and captured some amazing photos for us. In an act of gratitude toward our volunteers, including Jenny Milliman, Lynn Judy, and the eight hair stylists, we were able to give a monetary gift to each of them.
Now that we have completed this event, we are now brainstorming ideas for our next event. We are currently thinking of doing something for the elderly during Christmas time but have not gathered sufficient details to release at this time. We are open to ideas about events and would love to hear from you if you have any that would serve our community as a whole. If you would like to attend our meeting, feel free to reach out to us so we can make arrangements if a larger space may be needed.
As always, if you and/or your church have any questions, please don’t hesitant to contact us through Messenger (@jcfirstnewton), email at jcfirstnewton@gmail.com, or you can reach out to one of our team members.
We look forward to partnering with you!
Blessings,
JC First Leadership Team
